Create Classification Groups and Layers
To begin classifying mesh surfaces you first need to create classification layers. Select Add Layer above the Classified Section of the Model Browser.
Layers are added into the Model Hierarchy with a color automatically assigned. New layers are also set as the target layer.
Right click on a layer and click Rename to change the layer name.
Click Color to display the Color Palette to change the default layer color.
Click Target Layer to set any Classification Layer as the Target Layer for Classify.
To manage the layers within the project, you can create a Classification group. Select the Classified group in the model browser and click Add Group.
Tip: Use groups to create a spatial hierarchy for the mesh model. For example, create a group for each level of a building. In this way you can classify an object into both its layer and location in the building.
Groups and layers can be moved around within the hierarchy by dragging and dropping them within the Model Browser.
Use the delete option to remove any unwanted groups or layers.
Important: Deleting a group or layer will also permanently delete any mesh surfaces that are contained within them.
