Manage Models in the View

To view a model, including classification layers in the Mesh Editor, you need to load the model.

Select one or multiple models in the Model Browser and click Load from either the toolbar or the right click menu.

Tip: Do not load too many models into a view at once as this can cause performance issues. For large data with many mesh tiles, consider working with only a few tiles at a time and use classification groups to help manage the project.

You can toggle the visibility of loaded models by clicking the visibility icon next to each model in the model browser. Models set to hidden will still be loaded, but will not be visible or selectable.

To unload a model from view, select one or multiple models in the model browser and click Close.

To load unclassified mesh tiles by their extents in the model view. Click Tile Selection. Click on a tile to select it and then click Load. This helps to work with data containing multiple tiles. Click Tile Selection again to return to 3D selection.

Note: Starting with Recap Pro 2026.1, you can open a project that contains mesh data directly in the Mesh editor:
  • First time open: click the rcp file in the project folder, then choose Mesh in the Open project dialog. Alternatively open a new project in the homepage or drag and drop the rcp file into the home page.
  • Previously opened: click Recent projects, choose the project, then click Open as a mesh.
