Structured and Unstructured File Formats
Structured scan data is produced by static 3D laser scanners, such as those made by Faro, Leica, Z+F, Riegl, Topcon & Trimble. Common file formats for this data include FLS, PTG, PTX, ZFS, CLR, RSP and RDBX. Structured scan data is required for the following purposes:
- Registration or alignment
- Adding survey points
- Converting points to mesh
- Viewing scans in Panorama mode
- Publishing scans on the Cloud and sharing with RealView
Unstructured data in other formats can be imported to ReCap and used in support of the structured data. For example, it can provide measurement information and survey points for registration.
