Range of Seismic Load

The bottom story (base level) separates the part of the structure which is considered to be underground.

The range of Seismic Loads limits the levels where the seismic load is distributed and defines the structure height for fundamental period calculation with approximate method.

The bottom story (base level) separates the part of the structure which is considered to be underground. Below this level, seismic forces are not considered.

To define a bottom story (base level), use one of the following options:

  • Automatic - the lowest node of the structure (whole structure is above ground).
  • Coordinate Z - user defined XY plane.
  • Base of the story - the bottom of selected story defines the XY reference plane.

The Top story limits the level above which seismic forces are not considered.

To define the top storey, use one of the following options:

  • Automatic - the highest node of the structure.
  • Coordinate Z- user defined XY plane.
  • Top of the story - the top of selected story defines the XY reference plane.
