Assign Geometrically

Use the option to assign elements of a structure to defined stories (important during verification of the structure). Access the option by selecting the Geometry > Stories > Assign Geometrically.

At the top of the dialog you can specify if the option applies to a whole structure or to a selection.

By definition, an object belongs to a story if it is positioned in the interval:

Story base level < Story <= Story base level + Story height.

In the middle of the dialog you can select options that correspond to errors:

  • Assign an object contained entirely within a given story to that story
  • Unassign objects passing through several stories
  • Unassign objects positioned outside defined stories.

Below is a list of stories that defines the geometrical range in which to correct errors (you can select or deselect any of considered stories).
