General (Columns / Beams / Continuous Footings - ACI and CSA)

产品文档

Once the Calculation Options dialog box is opened for RC beams and American RC codes as well as the Canadian RC code, the General tab includes additionally the following options:

  • for the ACI code - possibility to switch on seismic requirements according to the seismic risk as indicated in ASCE-7 88(ANSI A58.1) and Uniform Building Code
  • possibility to determine fire rating.

In the case of the ACI code the Seismic risk may be selected; depending on seismic hazard, the risk may be: Low, Moderate and High. Once the Low risk is selected, seismic requirements will not be taken into account.

Moreover, for the Moderate and High risk the user may switch on the option Consider plastic moments for shear. This option allows calculation of a shear force according to the point 21.3.4.1 of the ACI 318-2002 code. The formula for Ve from this point has been extended for load cases other than the uniform load.

In the case of continuous footings it is possible to switch on seismic detailing (as for RC beams).

NoteThe differences between the codes ACI318 and ACI318 metric consist in the default values adopted: in the ACI318 metric code, the values described in the code are rounded to full values in the SI units.
