Select Materials in the Job Preferences dialog and click the Modification button. Select the Steel tab to access the following parameters.
Define the following:
Name
The name of the defined steel.
NoteThe material name must be assigned before the Add button is pressed.
Description
A description of the defined steel.
Elasticity
- Young Modulus - the value of Young's modulus for the defined steel.
- Poisson ratio - the value of Poisson's ratio for the defined steel.
- Shear modulus - the shear modulus for the defined steel. This influences shear forces on structure deformation.
Resistance
- Characteristic / design resistance - the value of the characteristic or design resistance of the defined steel.
- Reduction coefficient for shear - the reduction factor for shear analysis. The factor value is greater than 1.0.
NoteThe shear reduction factor is used during structure code calculations for steel codes CM66, DIN and MV103. The shear reduction factor also refers to aluminum code AL76.
- Limit strength for tension - the limit strength for tension for the defined steel.
Others
- Density (unit weight) - the density (unit weight) of the defined steel.
- Thermal Expansion Coefficient - the thermal expansion coefficient for the defined steel.
- Damping Ratio - the damping ratio of the defined steel.
