When you select a fabrication hanger, use controls in the drawing area to modify the position of the hanger bearer.
- Hanger Bearer Controls: adjust a hanger bearer for rectangular duct.
-
Drag the bearer end control to adjust the length of the bearer from the rod. Press the Shift key while dragging the control to constrain the direction of the movement.
-
Drag the rod end control to adjust the length and position of the hanger rod. Press the Shift key while dragging the control to adjust only the position of the hanger rod.
For example, when a duct hanger clashes with the duct above, use the triangle control to lengthen the hanger. Use the round control to adjust the position of the hanger to extend it to the structure.

Lock/Unlock Hanger Rod Relative Position: locks or unlocks the relative position between the hanger rod and the host. When you reposition the hanger rod, the lock/unlock control appears. By default, the hanger rod maintains its relative position with the duct (locked), so that when you move the duct, the hanger rod will move with it.
When unlocked, the duct will move independently of the hanger rod, and the rod will maintain its current position on the structure.
Note: These controls are not available for hangers placed on fittings.
