Follow this workflow to use Revit to create a model that reflects the MEP fabrication intent, and share it with construction detailers.
Create an MEP fabrication intent model in Revit, or convert a design-intent MEP model to a fabrication MEP model in Revit.
- Specify a fabrication configuration and load services into the model.
- Add fabrication parts to a
Revit model, using one of the following methods:
- Place fabrication parts directly into the model. Use tools on the ribbon to assist with the placement of parts.
- Use the Multi-Point Routing tool to click points in the model, and automatically place appropriate MEP fabrication parts.
- Convert design intent, generic duct or pipe parts to fabrication parts.
- Refine and complete the fabrication model, using one or more of the following methods:
- Modify the placement of fabrication parts using a variety of methods.
- Edit the dimensions or connectors for a fabrication part.
- Fill gaps in a fabrication model.
- Add integral dampers to fabrication ductwork.
