Transfer steel fabrication elements using the Advance Steel Extension for Revit.
Modifiers
Corner Cut
- Corner cuts are transferred but not synchronized.
- The supported corner cut types are convex and concave.
-
Straight corner cuts are not exported through .smlx. The plate contour is exported taking into account only the cut produced by the corner cut and not transferring the modifier itself:
-
For a concave corner cut, a convex corner cut will be created to "cut" the newly created plate:
Cope Skewed
- Skewed copes are transferred but not synchronized.
- All cope skewed modifier parameters are transferred, except the Around beam axis parameter.
Contour Opening
- Contour openings are transferred but not synchronized.
-
The following contour opening parameters are exported and imported:
- Gap width
- Radius
- Boring out
- Boundary
- Boundary distance 1
- Boundary distance 2
Note: On export, the transferred contour of the contour opening is calculated taking into account the Gap width, Radius and Boring out parameters.
Shortening
- Shortenings are transferred but not synchronized.
- All shortening modifier parameters are transferred.
Steel Elements
Note: Shear studs are not transferred using the Advance Steel Extension for Revit.
Plate
- Plates and folded plates are transferred and synchronized.
- The following plate parameters are exported, imported and synchronized:
- Position
- Shape
Note: The shape modification of the plate is reported in the Synchronization dialog as a position change.
- Thickness
- Material
-
The Coating parameter is not transferred.
Bolt and Anchor
- Bolts and anchors can be transferred but cannot be synchronized.
Note: Only the anchors with a rectangular pattern are transferred.
- The following bolt parameters are exported and imported:
- Position
- Standard
- Grade
- Diameter
- Assembly
- Number on side 1
- Number on side 2
- Length on side 1
- Length on side 2
Note: Length on Side1 or 2 is exported as the Intermediate distance on side 1 or 2 multiplied by Number on side 1 or 2. The edge distance will not be taken into count.
- Intermediate distance on side 1
- Intermediate distance on side 2
- The Coating, and Edge distance on side 1/2 parameters are not transferred.
Shear Studs
- Shear studs are not transferred using the Advance Steel Extension for Revit.
Holes
- Holes can be transferred but cannot be synchronized.
- Holes are exported one by one, not asa hole pattern and you cannot export only the holes, without their input element.
Note: If you only select holes to export, the entire project will be exported, without a notification.
- When exporting elements in a selection, using the Export only selected elements option, the selected holes without a driver will be ignored.
- Slotted holes created with a circular pattern will change orientation when exported:
- The following hole parameters are exported and imported:
- Type
- Diameter
- Length
- Along side
- Depth
- Value
- Tapping hole
- Back taper thread
- Right-handed thread
- Depth of bolt head
- Head diameter
- Chamfer angle
- Value
- Number on side 1
- Number on side 2
- Length on side 1
- Length on side 1
- Intermediate distance on side 1
- Intermediate distance on side 2
-
The Edge distance on side 1/2 parameters are not transferred.
Welds
- Welds can be transferred but cannot be synchronized.
- The following weld parameters are exported and imported:
- Main type
- Main thickness
- Location
- Surface shape
- Text module
- The following weld parameters are not exported and imported:
- Length
- Continuous
- Pitch
- Main text
- Main weld preparation
- Main root opening
- Main effective throat
- Main preparation depth
- Double type
- Double thickness
- Double text
- Double surface shape
- Double weld preparation
- Double root opening
- Double effective throat
- Double preparation depth
- Prefix
