Break the relationship between files after coordinates have been shared.
Reset shared coordinates allows you to break the relationship between files that share coordinates. When you reset coordinates in a model a number of steps are completed automatically.
When you reset shared coordinates in a file the following occurs in the host model.
Note: Resetting shared coordinates only affects the host model, no changes are made to the linked models.
- Shared coordinate relationship with linked models is eliminated.
- GIS coordinate position is eliminated.
- The survey point is moved back to the internal origin.
- Angle to true North is reset to 0.
- Project base point remains in position, but will report new coordinates based on the new position of the survey point.
Examples of when to use Reset Shared Coordinates
The following are examples of when you can consider resetting shared coordinates:
- Eliminate shared coordinates relationship between multiple models so that users can establish new relationship.
- Diagnose shared coordinates related problems.
- Practice using shared coordinates to understand how it works.
