Creating Models

When you are ready to begin a new design in Revit, create a model.

Use any of the following methods:

  • On the Home page, under Models, click New.
  • Press CTRL+N.
  • Click File tabNew (Project).
Important: Revit models are not backwards-compatible. When you create or modify a model using the current release of the software, you cannot open the model later using a previous release.
