Some new and changed features of Revit 2026 result in certain behaviors for upgraded models. Review this information before upgrading your models.
Migrate CefSharp to webView2
All CefSharp binaries are removed from the Revit distribution package starting with Revit 2026. Revit add-ins, can continue to use CefSharp as a standard 3rd party component. To continue using CefSharp, please ensure your add-in includes CefSharp binaries. Autodesk recommends using webView2 as an alternative to avoid potential issues from different CefSharp release versions in a single Revit session.
It is possible that WebView2 will not initialize in some cases. This may cause user interface elements to be gray or empty. For additional information see: Troubleshooting: User Interface Component Gray/Empty
Improved accuracy when linking topography
When reloading topography linked in previous versions of Revit, the improved precision of linking may result in topography that more closely aligns with the geometry of the link. In some cases, you can successfully link topography that was not previously possible. See images below for example.

Sub-Division Upgrade
- Inherit Contours - This is now controlled directly by the toposolid type used by the sub-division.
- Material - This is now controlled directly by the toposolid type used by the sub-division.
For additional information see Toposolid Sub-division Enhancements and Sub-divide a Toposolid.
OmniClass Parameter
The OmniClass Title parameter has been renamed Classification Title. The OmniClass Title parameter value will be lost after upgrading to Revit 2026 if the default ClassificationTaxonomy.txt is used. To retain the OmniClass Title parameter value, define the ClassificationTaxonomy.txt according to OmniClass standard before upgrading. See Edit the Classification File.
Wire Sizing
Wire sizing has been removed from the Electrical Settings dialog. Wire sizing is now handled by Electrical Conductor and Cable Settings. Upon upgrade, wire settings are migrated to conductor and cable settings. Wire sizing data on circuits is updated to the new schema. See Electrical Conductor and Cable Settings.
