Publish to NWC

The Publish to NWC add-in allows users to export multiple views from their Revit model as NWC files as a single batch operation.

Prerequisites

The Publish to NWC add-in requires the Navisworks NWC Export Utility to be installed before using. You can download the utility here.

If used with Desktop Connector, the Publish to NWC add-in can be used to export multiple views of a Revit model directly to a project folder in Desktop Connector where they will automatically be uploaded to your Autodesk Docs project and shared with your team.
Note: Desktop Connector can be installed from the Autodesk Account Portal.

Publish Sets

The Publish to NWC add-in uses the Publish Settings of the model to determine the views that should be exported to NWC. Publish Settings can be found under the Collaborate ribbon. Create one or more view sets containing the views that are required for export to NWC.

Publishing

The Publish to NWC add-in is available from the Add-ins tab.

Note: If this button is not enabled you may need to install the Navisworks NWC Export Utility. See Prerequisites for more details.
  1. Click Publish to NWC in the Add-ins tab on the Revit toolbar.
  2. Select the view set that you want to export from the drop-down menu. The views associated with selected view set will be displayed. Views that cannot be exported to NWC format will be unchecked and disabled. If a specific view is not required for export then it can be unselected by unchecking the tickbox on the left side of the window.

  3. To change the exported file name of the view, click on the view name and enter the name to use for export.
  4. The publish folder will be automatically set to the same location from which the Revit file was opened. To change the publish folder, click Select Folder and select the folder you want to use.
  5. When you're ready to publish, click Publish. The progress bar will show the current export status. When all views have been exported, the progress bar will disappear.
