Customizable Editing Color (What’s New in 2027)

Customize the color used to display elements during editing. The new generalized editing color replaces system visuals and applies consistently across multiple edit modes.

Customize the color used to display elements while editing across multiple editing modes. The former Canvas Color Rebar Editing option has been generalized to a single Editing color setting, providing consistent visual feedback whenever elements are in an active edit state.

The customizable editing color applies to the following edit modes:
  • Rebar
  • Saved View Positions
  • Assemblies
  • Parts
  • Structural Connections

This change removes the system level editing color previously used in some editors—such as the assembly editor—and allows you to align editing visuals with office standards or personal preferences.

The setting is available in Options, alongside other visual customization controls, and affects only elements currently being edited.

This feature was suggested by customers on the Ideas forum and is described on the product road map.
