AS 5100 (2017) Errors and omissions update (Unofficial)
Description
The option is accessed through File | Options | Preferences in the Main Menu.
This Preferences option activates a number of fixes to address errors and omissions in Australian Standards 2017 Amendment 1. Note that these have not been made official design code submissions at the time of the software release.
This list details the changes that this option will enable:
8.2.1.2 Consideration of torsion
σcp = stress at the centroid of the cross section, or at the junction of the web and flange when the centroid lies inside the flange due to prestress and axial force.
pc changed to uc in equation 8.2.1.2(2) and 8.2.1.2(3)
8.2.1.6(a) Requirements for transverse shear reinforcement
Parentheses removed and shear depth factor f introduced, where f=0.5 for dv ≥ 0.6m, and f=1.0 for dv ≤ 0.3m .
V* > fϕVuc + Pv
8.2.3.1 Design shear strength of a beam
Applied shear V* used in place of equivalent factored shear force V*eq:
ϕVu ≥ V*
8.2.3.3 Shear strength limited by web crushing
Pv removed from the equation 8.2.3.3(1) and 8.2.3.3(2).
8.2.4.4 Determination of εx for combined shear and torsion
Equation 8.2.4.4(3) revised to:
M* ≥ ( V* - Pv ) dv
