Page Setup
Description
Allows paper size, margins and footer to be defined and scaled.
Outline Procedure
This form can be opened from various locations. For instance the File menu of the Print Preview Form.
Each of the four pages may be displayed by left-clicking on the appropriate tab.
Settings within each page may be modified and the result previewed.
'Page' Tab Page

'Margins' Tab Page

The Top, Bottom, Left and Right fields define the widths of the respective margins from the edge of the page to the area available for the content.
Header
This field defines the distance from the edge of the page to the top of the page header. The distance from the edge of the page to the bottom of the page header is defined by the Top field.
Note that by setting the Header and Top fields to appropriate values the size of the header shown in the preview on this form may be reduced to less than the standard height of the page header block. If that is done then, on closing this form, the newly defined margins are adjusted to provide sufficient space for the page header block even if the page header is hidden.
Footer
This field defines the distance from the edge of the page to the bottom of the page footer. The distance from the edge of the page to the top of the page footer is defined by the Bottom field.
Note that by setting the Footer and Bottom fields to appropriate values the size of the footer shown in the preview on this form may be modified to allow sufficient space for whatever customization is intended to be done in the Page Footer Setup. The new values are always retained on exit even if that causes text in the footer to be hidden or truncated.
Horizontally
Vertically
These fields define how the tabular and graphic content is fitted within the area left available by the margin settings on this page. If checked then the content is centered. Otherwise it is left-justified or top-justified respectively.
'Footer' Tab Page

The program version and copyright notice, placed at the left of the footer, cannot be edited.
The central and rightmost areas of the footer contain, respectively by default, predefined functions for the date/time and the page number. They may be modified in this form by placing the cursor within the relevant box and entering text.
Functions available in this tab are also available in the Footer Toolbar of the Print Preview.
Predefined Functions
A variety of predefined functions may be mingled within the text.
These are fully defined in the Print Preview - Footer Toolbar - Command Help.
Reverse on even pages
The order of the footer may be reversed on even pages (so the page number is always on the outside when the results are bound).
Vertical Alignment
The text within each of the areas of the footer may be positioned as high as possible, centred or placed as low as possible.
The height of the footer is adjusted using the Footer field in the 'Margins' Tab Page in conjunction with the Bottom margin width of the 'Margins' Tab Page.
'Scaling' Tab Page

This adjusts the scaling only of the main part of the report. So if there is a graphics window above a table then only the scale of the table is modified by this. If there is only graphics in the output then its scale is changed.
Adjust to
Select and set a scale for the main part of the report.
Shrink to Page
Select to shrinkng a very wide table to one page.
