How to reset the API Password in Flow Production Tracking

Issue:

How to reset the API Password in Flow Production Tracking (formerly known as ShotGrid).

Causes:

Using the incorrect password in the API will trigger Flow Production Tracking to lock the user.

Solution:

Flow Production Tracking has two different logins. Autodesk ID is used to access the Flow Production Tracking site. Legacy Login is used in Flow Production Tracking API and legacy products that do not support Autodesk Account. Before migration, Flow Production Tracking relied on the Legacy Login for authentication. Currently, it employs the Autodesk ID for this purpose.  

How to reset the Legacy Login password in Flow Production Tracking:

 

  • Request a password reset from an Admin:
  1. As an Admin user, sign in to the Flow Production Tracking site.
  2. Go to the People page.
  3. Identify the desired user.
  4. In the Password field, click Reset API Password.
    • For the logged user, click Change API Password.
  • Visit the Flow Production Tracking URL with /user/forgot_password added to the end of the Flow Production Tracking URL:
    • For example, http://mystudio.shotgrid.autodesk.com/user/forgot_password
