Taking notes in Creative Review

The Notes Stream tab lets you leave annotations and text comments as notes on versions. This stream provides a centralized location for reviewing, managing, and referencing notes, attachments, and annotations.

How to submit notes

When you create a note, you can add the following to a version:

Keep the browser tab open until the upload is complete when submitting a note to avoid an incomplete submission.

Note:

Until you click Submit, the text, annotations, and attachments reside only in your local browser cache. By clicking Submit, you make your note part of the Notes stream, and permanently attach it to the version in Flow Production Tracking.

To submit a text note:

  1. Open the Notes Stream tab.

    Tip:

Use Markdown to add headings and to stylize your notes with bold and italics. See Formatting text fields with Markdown.

  2. Enter your note in the Note field.

  3. Click Submit to save and submit your annotations.

To attach an annotation to the note:

  1. Click Annotate to display the Annotation toolbar.

  2. Select the pen tool from the toolbar.

  3. Draw on the player.

  4. In the Notes Stream tab, add a note and click Submit to save and submit your annotations.

To attach a file:

  1. Open the Notes Stream tab.

  2. Drag the files to attach from your computer onto the Notes field.

Tip: Manage Attachments shows the number of files attached to the note.
  3. Click Submit to submit the note and save it to the version.

You can see the attachments are included with the new note.

Tip:

You can also attach a file from the Manage Attachments menu.

Manage attachments and annotations

When you add an annotation or an attachment to note, it's automatically added to the note. If you click Submit, the note includes all annotations created and attachments added to the version up to that point.

To control what gets submitted with the note, use the Manage Attachments menu. From this menu, you can:

  • Remove attachments
  • Select the annotated frames to attach to the note

Viewing notes

You also use the Notes Stream to review past annotations, attachments, and notes.

The note menu lets you:

  • View annotations in the player
  • Preview attachments
  • Open note in Flow Production Tracking

View annotations in the player

Select View annotations in the player to load the note's annotations in the player. The player displays in the context of the version all the annotations attached to that note.

When you view annotations in the player, you can still play back the version.

Preview attachments

Select Preview attachments to open in the Flipbook all the attachments: the annotations and attached files. In the Flipbook, the attachments are displayed as static images.

From the Flipbook, you can download any annotation or attachment. Or you can open an annotation in the player to view it in context of the version.

Open note in Flow Production Tracking

Select Open note in Flow Production Tracking to open the version and the note in Flow Production Tracking.

Notes stream tab

The Notes Stream displays all the notes linked to the displayed version.

Tip:

Toggle See all related notes to view the notes from previous iterations.
