Capacity
Capacity lets you understand how much creative output your studio can handle, and how much work an individual Artist can handle, for a given day or week. The following settings all influence the Capacity amount displayed in the Resource Planning views. It's best to continually monitor these settings on an ongoing basis to ensure the most accurate results.

Set Artist Capacity
Artist capacity is calculated using three fields on the People page. If any of these fields are not visible, you can add them using the Fields Menu.
Status
The Status field allows you to set the status for each individual Artist. Only active users contribute to capacity.
Department
The Department field allows you to allocate an Artist’s capacity to a specific Department.
% Capacity
The new % Capacity field defines how much time an individual spends on creative work at the studio. By default, % Capacity is set to 100%. Anyone with % Capacity set to 0 will be excluded from Capacity calculations.
Partial % Capacity is handled like this: In a studio with a 5 day work week, someone with % Capacity set to 100% will contribute 5 days per week to capacity. If set to 50% they will contribute 2.5 days per week to Capacity.
% Capacity is a site-wide setting that impacts all projects, if you want to set project-specific capacity use Project Bookings instead (see in the following section).
Define Studio and Project working days using Work Schedules
Work schedules are defined on the Admin Menu > Work Schedules page and allow you to define working days and non-working days for the studio and project.
Create Project Bookings
Capacity for projects is set by creating Project Bookings for Artists on the Admin Menu > Bookings page and can also be accessed through each Project. In addition to setting project start and end dates for a Booking, % Allocation can be used to define what proportion of an Artist’s capacity for delivering creative work is allocated to a project. If the % Allocation is field is not visible, you can add it using the Fields Menu.
You can create and update Project Bookings in bulk using the Importer. Download a CSV template to get started.
Create Artist Vacations
Vacations via Work Schedules or Vacation Bookings can be created to indicate zero capacity. While Work Schedules influence Task scheduling, Vacations Bookings do not impact Task scheduling.
Work Schedule Vacations
Work Schedule vacations are created on the Admin > Work Schedule page and allow you to specify when an Artist is on vacation or otherwise unavailable for work. This is done by selecting the desired Artist and days, then making them exceptions.
Vacation Bookings
Vacation Bookings are created on the Admin > Bookings page and allow you to specify when an Artist is on vacation or otherwise unavailable for work. This is done by checking the checkbox on the Vacations field. If the Vacation is field is not visible, you can add it using the Fields Menu.
You can create and update Vacation Bookings in bulk using the Importer. Download a CSV template to get started.
Create Contracts
Contracts are created on the Contracts page and allows you to get a more accurate view of capacity, by seeing when an Artist’s contract starts and ends.
Before an Artist’s contract starts and after it ends, the Artist is shown as having zero capacity.
You can create and update Contracts in bulk using the Importer. Download a CSV template to get started.
The Contract entity may need to be enabled on your site through Site Preferences, prior to seeing it. Through the Admin Menu, select Site Preferences, expand the Entities dropdown, and enable Contracts from there.
