About Unified Logging

Warning:

Local installations of Flow Production Tracking are no longer offered. This documentation is intended only for those with existing instances of Flow Production Tracking Enterprise Docker. Click here for a list of our current offerings.

Unified Logging allows centralization of logs from complex services in one unique place. It simplifies application monitoring and troubleshooting, while making it easier to adhere to security and operation best practices.

Our preferred solution for Unified Logging uses Fluentd as the data collector between Flow Production Tracking's services and an ElasticSearch database.

Flow Production Tracking's operations team has published a GitHub repository, which your studio can use to get up and running with Unified Logging.

Why would I use a Unified Logging service

When an application is scaling, it becomes harder to monitor how a server is performing and what types of transactions are generating the most volume. As the number of services grows, so do the number of servers, virtual servers and containers.

As the complexity of the system grows, a Unified Logging solution offers a first point of reference for determining where your infrastructure may be experiencing tension.

Searching and analyzing logs from a console is still a powerful tool, but visuals often help in quickly narrowing in on an issue. The Unified Logging application allows for log indexing, quick savable query patterns, and even customizable dashboards to help you troubleshoot more easily. Furthermore, our example implementation provides a set of predefined searches and a baseline dashboard to help you get started.

Finally, the web end-point allows studios to easily share logs to the Flow Production Tracking support team, making support for Enterprise clients more efficient.
