RV and VFX Platform Requirements
RV works best when the platform it's running on meets minimal requirements. RV follows the target platforms recommendations listed on the VFX Reference platform website.
The Reference Platform is set by calendar year (CY). The following table lists which annual reference platform to use based on the version of RV you're using.
The Reference Platform sets versions for components like operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), Python, Qt, (including PyQt, PySide, NumPy), OpenEXR, OpenColorIO (OCIO).
It also lists components used by RV but not specified by the VFX Reference Platform page-these components are usually optional.
If the VFX Reference Platform page and the table below both list the same component but with different versions, then the version listed in this table takes precedence.
