Creative Review - August update (What's New since August 2025)
Creative Review is still in Beta, and we intend to release regular updates to improve it, adding new features or addressing your comments and suggestions.
This August update introduces the following:
- Creative Review can now be the default player
- Annotations improvements
Your feedback is essential, so please reach out using the community forums.
Creative Review as the default player
You can now use Creative Review as the default player to view media in Flow Production Tracking, replacing the Overlay Player.
Once your site administrator sets Creative Review as the default player, it is accessible throughout Flow Production Tracking wherever you see a thumbnail with a play icon. Double clicking on the playable thumbnail will launch Creative Review, with Version information on the right in the details pane.
Go to the previous version by pressing Shift + Left arrow key, and go to the next one by pressing Shift + Right arrow key.
When you launch Creative Review from a thumbnail it behaves differently from when you launch it from the contextual menu, in the following ways.
Launched from thumbnail | Launched from the contextual menu |
---|---|
Opens in the same tab. To close Creative Review, click the X in the top-right corner. | Opens in a new tab. To close Creative Review, close the tab. |
Displays all the versions listed in the grid. Ideal to move quickly between versions. | Displays the selected version or playlist. Ideal to play back playlists. |
Does not support Live Review currently. | Supports Live Review now. |
Set Creative Review as the default player
As an admin, open Apps > Manage Apps.
In the Manage Apps page, open the Creative Review configuration menu.
In the Overview tab, enable Set Creative Review as default player.
Close the configuration menu to save the changes.
Better annotations in Creative Review
The August update introduces the following annotation improvements:
- Drawing annotations is now more responsive. You should feel less drag when moving the pen tool quickly across a frame.
- You can now use a pen tablet like the Wacom Intuos to draw annotations. If your tablet supports pressure sensitivity, you can control the thickness of the lines by varying the pressure you apply to the stylus.
To use pressure sensitivity with your stylus, the site administrator must enable the preference Have stylus pressure set the thickness of annotation lines in Creative Review (Beta) in the Site Preferences.
