Removing sections from a selection

Jump to Mobile or Windows 10


When making a selection, sometimes you grab areas you don’t want. When this happens, instead of redoing your selection, use Remove icon from the Selection tools in the Windows 10 version of Autodesk SketchBook Remove. This way, all you need to select are the areas you don’t want to remove them from the selection.

Removing sections from a selection in SketchBook Pro Desktop

  1. Once you’ve made a selection, tap Remove icon from the Selection tools in the Windows 10 version of Autodesk SketchBook, then either tap-drag to remove sections from it or for the Magic Wand selection, tap areas you want deselected.

    Note:

    If Magic Wand was selected, decrease the Tolerance to remove pixels to your selection, then tap the canvas again to see the change.

  2. Tap Tap this to exit the Selection mode in the Windows 10 version of Autodesk SketchBook to accept the changes and exit the tool.

Removing sections from a selection in SketchBook Pro Mobile

If you want to delete a selection, you can use Remove icon Remove or Cut Cut.

Using Remove in SketchBook Pro Mobile

  1. Once you made a selection, tap Replace icon, Remove icon, then either tap-drag to remove sections from it or for Magic Wand selection, tap areas you want deselected.

    Note:

    If Magic Wand was selected, decrease the Tolerance to remove pixels to your selection, then tap the canvas again to see the change.

  2. Tap Finished selection icon to accept the changes or X to decline.

Using Cut in SketchBook Pro Mobile

  1. Make a selection.

    Note:

    If Magic Wand was selected, decrease the Tolerance to remove pixels to your selection, then tap the canvas again to see the change.

  2. If the Layer Editor isn't open, tap Layer Editor to open it.

  3. Tap-hold the layer with the selected content to access the Layer Menu.

  4. Tap Cut Cut.
