Directory Environments
The directory environment is a database for storing and maintaining the information about the users and resources. The setup process for directory sync differs based on the environments where the organizations directory is stored. Following are the directory environments and their supported connection types:
A SCIM environment means that an identity provider (Azure or Okta) stores a directory in the cloud. SCIM is an industry standard for creating a directory connection between the cloud-based identity provider and Autodesk Account. In Autodesk, Azure AD SCIM and Okta SCIM are used for SCIM setup. For detailed instructions, choose your identity provider:
An On-premises environment means the directory is stored locally. Autodesk partners with Okta to provide directory sync for on-premises environments. Download the Okta Active Directory (AD) Agent and install it on a local domain server to create a directory sync connection to Autodesk Account. For detailed instructions, see On-premises setup.
