Background Sync

Have your data uploaded and downloaded automatically with background sync. Save time by having up-to-date data without manual interaction. Background sync is a project-specific feature, and is available for both new (in the cloud) and already downloaded projects. If you are actively working on multiple projects, enable background sync for each project.

Requirements for background sync:

  • Device is being charged.
  • Device is connected to WiFi.
  • Device has enough storage (at least 100 MB).
  • Device is not in use.
  • Device is powered on (iOS specific).
Important: Best practice is to close your project and return to the Projects list page before leaving your device charging. With background sync on, open projects will be automatically closed, and any unsaved data could be lost.
Note: If you have not accessed a project in 30 days, background sync will automatically turn off.

Turn on Background Sync on Android

For new projects (those that haven't yet been downloaded), the option to turn background sync on is available when you select the project to download.

For projects that are already downloaded to your Android device:

  1. From the Projects list page, tap the More menu for a project.

  2. Tap Edit download options.

  3. Enable the Background sync toggle.

Turn on Background Sync on iOS

For new projects (those that haven't yet been downloaded), the option to turn background sync on is available when you select the project to download.

For projects that are already downloaded to your iOS device:

  1. From the Projects list page, tap the More menu for a project.

  2. Tap Edit download options.

  3. Enable the Background sync toggle.

  4. Tap Settings.

  5. Tap Allow.
