Publish 2D Files as Sheets

Note:

At this time, only PDF files can be published as sheets for 2D takeoff in Autodesk Takeoff.

You can upload PDF files and publish them directly to Takeoff with the Sheets & Models tool. You can also publish 2D sheets directly from the Files tool. Both of these file management tools are available from the left navigation in Takeoff.

Publish 2D Sheets from Sheets & Models

Upload and publish PDF files as 2D sheets to use in Takeoff.

  1. Navigate to the 2D Sheets tab in the Sheets & Models tool and click Upload files.

  2. Select the PDFs you want to upload and publish by browsing from your computer or dragging them to the drop zone.

Tip: When dragging files to the drop zone, we recommend dropping multiple files at once. Once you drop files, upload and extraction begin immediately and you must wait until these processes are complete to drop more files.
  3. Selecting the file uploads the file and prepare it for publishing. Click Next to version set.

  4. Select version set. You can create a new version set by giving the set a name and issuance date of your choice, or you can select an existing version set to add the file to. Click Next to sheet numbers.

  5. Review and edit any missing or incorrect sheet numbers that were extracted. Click Next to titles and tags.

  6. Review sheet titles and tags. You can reuse any title and tag information that was extracted or enter new ones. Click Publish sheets.

  7. Your sheets will be published. This process may take anywhere from a few moments to a few minutes, depending on the sheets being published. Published sheets appear in the Sheets & Models list under the 2D Sheets tab.

Important:

To view, open or perform takeoff on published sheets and models, you must navigate to the Takeoff viewer.
