Perform Takeoff on 3D Models

You can perform takeoff on a 3D model from the Takeoff Types panel in the Takeoff viewer.

To Perform Takeoff on a 3D model

1. While viewing a model, click the Takeoff Types icon in the left navigation to open the Takeoff Types panel.

2. From the Takeoff Types list, select the takeoff type to use for your takeoff.

   • 2D takeoff types are gray and inactive for takeoff while you’re viewing a 3D model, but can be viewed and edited in the Takeoff Types list while inactive.

3. Select one or more objects directly on the model in the viewer.

   • You may want to inspect the properties of the selected objects to confirm that they are the correct objects for takeoff.

4. Add selected objects to the takeoff by clicking the blue box beside the takeoff type they belong to in the Takeoff Type list.

   

   Takeoff items appear in detailed takeoff view for the takeoff type and in the inventory for the takeoff package.
