Versions in Sheets & Models
Sheets and models can be updated or republished after the initial publish or upload. An updated file is saved automatically as a new version. The number on a file's version badge indicates the number of versions available for the file.
Sheet Versions
When you publish a sheet, a version number, inclusion in a version set, and issue date are established. Takeoff tracks versions by sheet number. A new version set is created when an updated sheet is published.
When you view a sheet that has multiple versions in the Takeoff viewer, the most recent version is always be shown by default.
Model Versions
Takeoff tracks model versions by file name and upload date. Each uploaded model is treated as a new version.
Version Indicators
When new and updated files are published to Sheets & Models, you’ll see indicators or notifications for the updates.
Version badge – A file’s version badge allows you to see the number of versions that exist for a sheet or model.
Existing takeoff on previous versions icon – In the Takeoff viewer, an orange warning icon appears next to the version badge of updated sheets or models that have takeoff items on previous file versions.
When the file is open, you’ll see a banner notification asking you to take action on the existing takeoff items.
Switch Between Version Sets or Versions
You can navigate between packages and select and view different version sets or versions available for a sheet or model in the switcher drop-down at the top of the Takeoff viewer.
