Export an electrical package from Altium Designer

Important:

The Altium exporter is no longer available for download. However, if you installed it previously, you may continue to use it to export electrical CAD data from Altium v20.x.

Upchain's Altium exporter makes it easy to export eCAD data from Altium Designer to then import it into Upchain. At the click of a button, export a full eCAD package that contains all the data you need to add your electrical data and bill of materials to Upchain.

Requirements

Only Altium version 20.x is supported.

Export eCAD data using the Altium exporter

  1. In Altium Designer, open the project you want to export.

  2. Click the Export to Upchain icon from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

    The Export to Upchain window opens

  3. Locate the folder to which you want to export your files.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Once the export is completed successfully, click OK and close the Export to Upchain window.

The exported files include the following:

  • An Excel file containing the BOM structure
  • A PDF file containing all the drawings
  • A ZIP file containing the entire Altium project.
