Invite a user to your Upchain tenant

In addition to assigning a license to use Upchain to a user's Autodesk account, you must also invite them to your company's Upchain tenant. This step is completed by an Upchain Tenant Administrator.

Requirements

Before you can invite users to your tenant, the following must be true:

• You must be logged into Upchain as a Tenant Admin.
• The Autodesk Administrator has invited the user to create their Autodesk account.
• The Autodesk Administrator has assigned the correct license to the user to use Upchain.

Invite users

To invite a user to your Upchain tenant:

1. From your profile menu, select Administration.

2. Open the Users page.

3. Click Invite users located at the top-right corner.

4. Enter the new user’s Autodesk email, and select a role and division.

5. Click + Add user to add additional rows to invite multiple users at once.

6. Click Invite.

   All invited users are shown in a list.

7. Click Confirm.

Upchain sends an email with a link to accept their invitation to the invited users. Before a user has accepted their Upchain invitation, the user’s full name appears as Invited User and their status is Inactive. Once they’ve accepted the invitation and logged in for the first time, their status changes to Active and their full name is shown.

Assign an Upchain license

A user’s Upchain license must match the license assigned to their Autodesk account. By default, all users are assigned a Professional license in Upchain. However, this may not align with the Autodesk license to use Upchain they have been assigned. If you are not the Autodesk Administrator, you may need to reach out to them to determine which license each user has been assigned. To learn more about Upchain licenses, click here.

To change a user’s Upchain license:

1. From your profile menu, select Administration.
2. Open the Users page.
3. Locate and click on a user to open the user’s detail view on the right side.
4. Click Edit.
5. Select the appropriate license from the License drop-down list.
6. Click Save.

The user’s Upchain license is now changed. If the user was currently logged into Upchain, they might need to log out and log back in again for the changes to take effect.

And that's it! Your team can now begin creating their Autodesk accounts and logging into Upchain.
