Obtain credentials to use APIs
Follow these steps to gain access to Upchain's APIs. Additional information may be found in the links provided.
Note: You only need to perform these steps once.
Create a system-to-system app
- Navigate to Autodesk Platform Services > Applications.
- Click Create application.
- Type in a name for the application.
- Select Server-to-Server App.
This generates your client credentials, including a Client ID and Client Secret. You’ll receive an email with a link to the app you’ve just created.

Whitelist your tenant and client ID
Once you have generated your Server-to-Server app credentials, you must have Autodesk add your client ID and tenant to the whitelist to be able to run API calls.
- Send a support request to Autodesk support.
- In the request, include the Client ID and your tenant name. Do not include your client secret.
Autodesk support will send you an email indicating that your Client ID and tenant have been whitelisted, meaning you may now access the Upchain APIs.
