Override a user's delegate assignment and reassign tasks

Users may have appointed delegates to complete tasks in their absence.

Tenant Administrators may override a user's delegate appointment by reassigning one or more tasks to another user within the same the tenant. The newly appointed user:

  • Automatically inherits the role of the original assignee' and
  • Is automatically added to the project to which the task belongs (if the user isn't already a Team Member).

Follow these steps to override a delegated assignment and reassign selected tasks:

  1. Open Administration > Users.

  2. Click on a user.

    The user's details pane opens.

  3. Click Reassign tasks.

  4. Enter at least the first three characters of a team member's name, username, or email to see a list of users to assign all tasks to.

  5. Select a user from the drop-down list.

  6. Click Next.

  7. In the Reassign tasks window, select each task that you would like to reassign to your chosen user. You may select one, several, or all tasks.

  8. Click Next.

    A window opens to confirm the reassignment of selected tasks. If the selected user is not a member of the projects where the tasks are located, the selected user will be added to those projects.

  9. Click Reassign.

A confirmation shows that tasks have been successfully reassigned.
