Create a visualization for a CAD model
When a CAD file is checked into Upchain, visualization is automatically generated for it so that the CAD model can be viewed in the 3D Viewer.
You can monitor the progress of the visualization in the Visualization column in a project's BOM table.
- While generation of visualization is in-progress, you'll see the Conversion in progress
icon. - Once the visualization is ready, you'll see the Conversion is complete
icon.
If visualizations were not generated at the time of check in, then you can manually generate a visualization for a part or an assembly.
Click more actions
.Select Visualization > Regenerate One or Regenerate All.
- Regenerate One - Generates a visualization only for the selected item.
- Regenerate All - Generates visualizations for the selected item and all of its children.
- Regenerate All (Overwrite) - Generates visualizations for the selected item and all of its children. Available only to Tenant Admins, this option overwrites any existing visualization.
