Supplier administration
Add the supplier to the tenant
Your Tenant Administrator must create the supplier in your tenant. For more information on how to administer suppliers, click here
Important: If you intend to send Request for Quotes (RFQs) (or other assignments for Requirements or QA processes) from Upchain to a supplier, then the supplier must have an email address associated with them. They must also create a free Autodesk account with that email address to register with Upchain and access the Supplier Portal.
To enable your supplier to participate in workflows, your Tenant Admin must also enable the tenant property supplier.part.bp.enabled
.
Supplier registration
Your supplier must complete their registration and create their Autodesk account.
Once this has been completed, you may now involve your supplier in RFQs, Requirements, or QAs.
Work with suppliers
Interaction with a supplier should follow the process laid out below.
- For a supplier to be able to view item information in the Supplier Portal, you must associate a supplier with an item in Upchain web.
- Once a supplier is associated with an item, you may create a Request for Quote, a QA process or, Requirement.
- If the chosen workflow includes supplier participation, the supplier receives the assignment via email. They may view the item using the Supplier Portal.
- Within the Supplier Portal, the supplier may now download the item's CAD, add item details, and add and manage documents that they want to send to you.
- If a supplier has been assigned a task in the workflow, they should complete their task.
- Once the supplier has completed their task, you may now view the supplier's quote and supplier part details. If you have sent RFQs to multiple suppliers, you may review each supplier's information.
- Finally, you may select a preferred supplier. This supplier appears in the BOM table and is exported to the BOM report.
