Effective date for projects

The Tenant Administrator may configure certain project types to use an effective date.

An effective date alters the BOM structure such that is shows item versions with creation dates that precede the project's effective date and excludes item versions with creation dates that come after the project’s effective date.

When the effective date filter is applied to the end item tree in the Navigation pane, the selected end item's eBOM structure is static and the BOM table filters (As Saved, Latest Working and so on) are not applicable.

About the creation date

A creation date is set for an item version when one of the following occurs:

  • When the item is first created in Upchain.
  • When edits or structural changes are saved and a revision of the item is created.
  • When the item is released and a new version of the item is created.

Configure a project's effective date

Note:
  • Tenant Administrators must enable the option to use an effective date from Administration > Project types for specific project types.
  • Only Project managers can set the effective date.
  1. On the Project settings project settings page, click Edit.
  2. Beside the Effective date box, click calendar icon to select a date.
