Plugins

CAD

  • We have enabled an improved workflow for generating DWG & PDF translations in the plugin with the following benefits:

    • Check-in performance: Processing has been streamlined so that the BOM wizard opens faster after check-in.

    • Improved data precision: The translations display the correct data in the drawing title block.

    • Improved user experience: Better performance and responsiveness.

    • Data Integrity: Improved data quality on drawings in generated translations.

    • Additional notes:

      • Only affects the tenants which have drawing.create.dwg or drawing.create.pdf enabled.
      • In order for changes to take effect, you must have CAD plugin version 23.4 or higher installed.

Interface

  • Fixed an issue where the revision note "Initial revision" on a new Change Request was not converted to upper case characters when the tenant property item.attribute.uppercase was enabled.

Plugins

Inventor

  • The Inventor plugin now handles phantom and reference BOM types in the same way as the Inventor BOM table. Phantom and reference components are no longer added to the eBOM. Click here to learn more.

CAD

  • Fixed an issue where the cBOM and eBOM sides of the BOM wizard would become out of sync when scrolling through a large assembly.

Interface

  • Fixed an issue where the information in an Investigation Request's Notes tab would only display when you opened it from a different tab. The information is now displayed right away.
  • Fixed an issue where users received the error "Unable to retrieve tenant service info" when trying to log in.
  • Fixed an issue when attempting to release a drawing that referenced a phantom file. The error message "ID to load is required for loading" will no longer appear.
  • We have improved the functionality and stability of the bulk export function.

Plugins

Inventor

  • Fixed an issue where you could not attach a drawing to an item because it was referencing more then one model.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Attach active CAD file" operation was failing when the item number contained free text as part of its item numbering rule - the plugin would prompt you to input free text again but would not accept the existing free text. The item now retains its existing item number when attaching a CAD file.

SOLIDWORKS

  • Fixed an issue where an item would keep its checkout lock after files were checked in because the drawing contained missing references that were skipped during check in. Now, the plugin reports all missing references on a drawing and you must resolve them before the check in continues.

CAD

  • You may now edit eBOM attributes in any location where the item's detail view is shown, including the Project BOM, Quick Search, Advanced Search, cBOM view, and more. The CAD files no longer need to be downloaded or checked out to do so. More information is found here.
  • Improved the warning message that indicates a file with the same name already exists in Upchain.
  • Fixed an issue where the stale cBOM report would not run. It now works the same as the As Saved Equals Latest Working setting in the System primitive.
  • Fixed several issues when checking in a CAD file where the plugin would report that no changes were made to the CAD file when checking in from the Item View or when only its item attributes were modified.
  • Fixed an issue where the cBOM structure was not updated even though the parent assembly was checked out.

API

  • You are now able to change your username to something different to your email address.

Interface

  • Tenant Admins may now delete the latest (or all) CAD and drawing file versions from an item in development. Read more about this feature here.
  • Fixed an issue where deprecated fields in the Investigation request details pane were incorrectly shown as editable.
  • Fixed an issue where the information in an Investigation request's Notes tab would only display when you opened it from a different tab. The information is now displayed right away.
  • Users who check out a document they are following now receive a message that the document is checked out.
  • Improved the clarity on the warning message for Change notices when it detects that the Move quantity is greater than the Historical (H) quantity.
  • Notes on Change notice tasks are now visible.

Workflow

  • Change requests now validate the state of the cBOM-eBOM relations after release to ensure the structures of the cBOM and eBOM have remained correct.

Plugins

SOLIDWORKS

  • Fixed an issue where a cBOM refresh on an older version of the drawing was failing because of an incorrect comparison between the latest model version and actual model version to which drawing was referencing.

CAD

  • Fixed an issue where the stale cBOM report would not run. It now works the same as the As Saved Equals Latest Working setting in the System primitive.
  • Improved localization accuracy and added missing translations. Messages shown previously in English are now shown in the correct language.
  • The Mass attribute now appears as a common attribute in the Item details tab.

General

  • Improved the clarity of the email messaging that is sent when a Change Notice report fails to generate.
