Configure the Update primitive to update item maturity level

The Update primitive in the change request (CR) workflow may be configured to automatically assign a value to an item's maturity level at the time of its release or after an item has been released. You may configure your own item maturity picklist to suit your business needs.

You may configure the Update primitive to set a specific item maturity value during the workflow. Alternatively, you may configure the Update primitive to enable the Workorder Creator to set the item maturity value at the time they create the change request and select the CR workflow (before initiating it).

Follow these steps to set an item's maturity level for a CR workflow:

  1. Load the workflow into the canvas.

  2. Click Edit (edit_icon.png) beside the workflow name.

  3. Add an Update (UpdatePrimitive.png) primitive to the workflow, if there isn't one already.

  4. From the Type drop-down list, select Item Maturity Update.

  5. (Optional) From the Value drop-down list, select the item maturity value you want to set at this point in the workflow.

Alternatively, leave this value blank. When blank, the Workorder Creator sets this value before starting the CR workflow.

  6. At the bottom of the Update primitive settings, click Update Criteria.

This opens a window where you may configure the criteria that determines to which items the item maturity is applied.

  7. Configure item criteria from left to right:

    1. Set the first field to Item Version.
    2. (Optional) Modify the boolean operator from the drop-down list. It is set to and by default. You may only need to change this if you add more than one line.
    3. Select an item attribute from the next drop-down list to identify the items to which item maturity should be applied.
    4. Select an operator from the drop-down list that determines how the attribute should be searched for, such as, not equal (ignore case).
    5. Indicate a value based on your previous selections - this could be a set of drop-down options or requires a manual entry.
    6. (Optional) Click the Add (mceclip1.png) icon and repeat these steps for every additional item criteria that you want to create.
    7. Click OK to save and close the window.
  8. In the top-right corner of the workflow canvas, click the more actions icon (more options icon wf.png) and select Save.
