Create a new version of a workflow

Once a workflow is published it cannot be edited. You must create a new version of it to make any required changes and updates. This ensures that you can always trace the history of your workflows and return to any previous version should the current one not meet your requirements.

There are three options for creating a new version, and they can all be accessed by clicking the more options icon in the upper-right corner.

  • Import as New Version - Enables you to import an XML file that contains the desired structure of your workflow.
  • New Version - Creates a new version of the workflow that is completely empty. This might be useful if you want to create an entirely new workflow structure but still use the same workflow name.
  • Save as New Version - Creates a new version of the workflow that matches the previous version. This is useful for modifying the existing workflow.

The new version is in Draft and the published version remains Active until the new version is published.
