Use these best practices to move iPart Factory, iPart Members, and related folders.
Moving iPart Factory
Name subfolders containing member parts the same name as the Factory file name. This is so that when you move a factory, the subfolder and members are automatically moved as well.
Now, when you move the factory, you move the complete family.
Moving iPart Members
By default, Vault prevents the move of standard and custom members. Generally, iPart families should be managed as a whole, as described in the above section.
However, if you must move a particular member without moving the entire family, Inventor must break the link first.
Moving iPart Members Folders
Avoid moving design files into members folders. Vault will display a warning message; this is because if your factory subfolder is set up according to best practices in this topic, when you move a factory, all files in the members folder are moved as well.
