Prepare Your Title Blocks

Follow these best practices for preparing your title blocks for synchronization with Vault.

Be Consistent with Title Block Names

Use consistent and clear naming conventions with your title blocks. This makes it easier to recognize your title block names in a long list.

Use Concise Descriptions

Make sure title blocks have concise descriptions. These descriptions will be visible as properties in Vault and can provide a quick way to identify the drawing.

Use Title Block Properties Instead of Attributes

Autodesk recommends that you use properties with your title blocks instead of attributes. Vault mapping is most reliable with AutoCAD title block properties.

Know Your Title Block Names

Record the title block names that are used in your drawings. These names must be enabled in Vault before you can map them. The names must match exactly for mappings to succeed.
