Troubleshooting: Dialogs not on Current Screen

Issue

Users with varying monitor setups may experience difficulties with dialog boxes. These dialogs (checkout, copy design, errors, etc.) may not display on the primary screen, particularly when transitioning between multi-screen systems and a single laptop. This issue arises because it persist the last location of the dialog box, even if it's off-screen in the current monitor setup.

Solution

To resolve this issue, command line utility can be used to reset the dialog locations.

  1. Close the Autodesk Vault client.
  2. Run the command line utility.
Note: If the client is running and the utility is run, a warning will be displayed to close the client first.

The command line utility has two options:

  1. Reset the dialog locations: This option deletes the information or XML files which store dialog location settings, keeping everything else as is.

    Connectivity.VaultPro.exe ResetDialogLocations

  2. Reset Vault Client profile: This option deletes all XML files related to Vault client.

    Connectivity.VaultPro.exe ResetAllClientSettings
