Moving to Trash Bin
Learn about moving files, folders, and other entities to Trash Bin.
As an administrator, you can enable or disable the Trash Bin functionality in the Vault Settings > Behavior tab. Once you disable the Trash Bin functionality, the Delete workflow will return to permanently deleting the file or folder.
Options to empty trash bin
As an administrator, you can choose to automatically remove objects from the bin 30 days after deletion or manually empty the bin at any time. You can perform the following actions within the Trash Bin workflow:
Permanently delete: This command works the same as Delete workflow when you disable the Trash Bin feature.
Empty the Trash Bin: This command permanently deletes all files and folders in the Trash Bin.
Restore files: This command restores selected files from the Trash Bin to their original location.
Restore folder and its contents: This command restores the selected folders along with their contents to their original location.
Restore folder: This command restores only the selected folders to their original location.
Deletion rules
- Users can delete entities such as files and folders if they have the necessary delete access without restrictions.
- All versions of an entity can be deleted unless another entity references the target.
- An entity with a released version cannot be deleted unless the "Ignore restrictions" option is selected.
- Deleting an entity removes all previous versions and historical data, which cannot be recovered within the vault.
