Release notes: Access and permissions migration
These release notes describe Workflow Advisory access changes effective September 18, 2026. Access moves to Autodesk Manage so you grant and control tool distribution in one place—the same way you manage other Autodesk subscriptions.

How It Works Today
Getting Access
When an account admin is provisioned with a Workflow Advisory license, a Trial subscription is automatically created in Autodesk Manage. To give your users access to tools:
- Sign in to advisor.autodesk.com.
- Go to the Settings tab and add users.
- Assign each user an access level: Member or Admin.
- Once added, your users can sign in to the Workflow Advisory Hub and access the Tools section to download or launch tools.
What Is Changing on September 18
On September 18, access management moves entirely out of the Workflow Advisory Hub and into Autodesk Manage (manage.autodesk.com).
Getting Access
- Sign in to manage.autodesk.com.
- Go to Products & Services — the Workflow Advisory subscription moves from Trials to Products & Services on September 18.
- Select Workflow Advisory to obtain the subscription.
- Once entitlement is obtained, assign users who need access directly in Manage.
- Once assigned, users can sign in to the Tools catalog and download desktop tools directly.
Only account admins in Autodesk Manage can assign the Workflow Advisory subscription to users.
Accessing Web Based Tools
Web Based Tools require an additional step. After you assign a license in Autodesk Manage, you must also add users to the Workflow Advisory Hub by selecting the Web Based Tools tab. Both steps are required to use Web Based Tools.
Autodesk Design and Make Marketplace
When you access Workflow Advisory via the Autodesk Design and Make Marketplace without the required entitlement, the Get button is greyed out. A notification indicates that the Workflow Advisory subscription (WATOOLS) must be assigned through Autodesk Manage under Products & Services before you can acquire the tool.
What Existing Users and Admins Should Expect
On September 18, existing users and admins should see no change to their permissions and access to Workflow Advisory. To add new users to the Workflow Advisory entitlement after that date, contact your Autodesk representative.
