Autodesk Workshop XR 1.0.0

Release Notes

With 1.0.0, we’re focusing on more consistent model loading while increasing the amount of geometry loaded around a user. Workshop XR 1.0.0 introduces new placeholder geometry for levels of detail, more optimized materials, and an emphasis on stable object loading, overall FPS, and performance.

Updates

More consistent model loading We've updated the loading strategy and made further optimizations so that more model geometry can consistently load.

More stable model geometry With newly optimized materials and a setting that allows for transparent materials to be easily turned off, or rendered opaque, models load with greater stability

Improved model loading feedback Development continues on our model loading strategy, now including placeholder geometry at some distances and while loading.

What’s Fixed

  • Users without permission to view a model will no longer see an empty pedestal or a progress bar.
  • You will no longer see the sign-in screen after removing your headset and returning to the app later.
  • We've fixed an issue where the console page would sometimes be blank.
  • Leaving a 1:1 session to return to the workshop is now faster.
  • Fixed an issue causing the model on the table and the active model name displayed in the console may not be accurate or in sync, or display a "No Model Shared" notification.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause model loading progress to stall, resulting in some model geometry remaining in medium level of detail even when in range.
  • In sessions with multiple users, audio may echo in 1:1 and cut out.
  • Users may not have a ‘Go-To Issue’ Button available in the issue panel when creating an issue from the Workshop XR on an exterior wall.
  • Improved issue where some LOD placeholder boxes could appear overly large.
  • Fixed an issue so that the VR app no longer crashes due to an infinite loop in the progress bar.
  • Fixed an issue for  in VR that caused users to not be able to Go-To newly placed issues
  • Placement issues created in ACC LMV do not appear as a sphere in 1:1.
  • The length of selector becomes and stays short after hovering over issues panel.
  • The user cannot interact with the Issue and Properties shortcuts while moving in the workshop. * * The user can open them only after clicking on the buttons several times in a row or while not moving.
  • Resize/Rotate no longer continues after user has stopped manipulating.
  • The progress loading bar no longer stops progress/gets stuck.
  • The console no longer shows a blank page
  • Users without permission to view a model will no longer see an empty pedestal or a progress bar.
  • We've fixed an issue where LODs were showing outside of workshop bounds.
  • Users can now manipulate and teleport into models that have visible Medium TileLODs.
  • We've made improvements to minimize flickering through small gaps in geometry.
  • The Go-To and Gather features will no longer remain disabled after a model that a user has access to is shared.
  • The Go To and Gather features will no longer intermittently disable for all users.
  • We've fixed the timing so that model geometry doesn't flash in front of you when you look away.
  • The transparency toggle in the settings is now enabled by default.
  • We've fixed an issue where the TileLOD color was incorrectly showing as grey.
  • Various other bug fixes, optimizations, and improvements

Known Issues

  • After creating a workshop and assigning a model, that model may not appear on the table in the workshop upon entering
  • Syncing model visibility with older workshops is currently not possible.
  • Please be sure to delete existing workshops, and work with models in newly created workshops to take advantage of updated visibility features.
  • After a headset is idle for some time (~30 minutes) the console may display a "something went wrong" error message.
  • Share to workshop button may become unresponsive if headset wifi is disconnected and reconnected
  • The VR app may crash when hand controllers run out of battery.
  • Some users' audio levels may become quieter after exiting and re-entering a workshop. A force close and relaunch of the app should resolve this.
  • In sessions with multiple users, audio may echo in 1:1 and cut out.
  • Users may not have a ‘Go-To Issue’ Button available in the issue panel when creating an issue from the Workshop XR on an exterior wall.
  • Geometry may have the incorrect material assigned to it while loading.
  • Users may be unable to reset their console’s position when the user console is out of position in VR app and the user holds the non-dominant hand controller.
  • Only the white frame/outline appears when pressing the console button to open the console in Workshop XR.
  • Objects are not currently highlighting when selected to show data in the Properties tool.
  • Users may experience a console error after a user’s headset goes to sleep for some time.
  • Lip-sync and facial expressions do not function for the reflection avatar in home space.
  • Rotation does not work when the user holds to aim at a pre-defined teleportation spot around the Workshop table and continues to walk through it.
  • Newly created workshops may not maintain a persistent connection with an uploaded model between sessions
  • Users may collide with invisible geometry in the workshop if a model is scaled beyond the bounds of the table
  • Controller pointers may disappear after using the go-to user function.
  • XR admins may be unable to share files to the table.
  • Objects with opaque transparency may take on the material of the previously highlighted object.
  • A "Something Went Wrong" message may appear in the console when switching between panels.
  • If creating a workshop fails in VR-home, the next created workshop may be duplicated.
  • The workshop permission flow may not scroll when adding users.
