Autodesk Workshop XR 1.11.3
Release Notes
Updates:
Increased Geometry Load: You can now load models with more geometry without compromising performance, thanks to our advanced rendering techniques.
High Model Resolution: Your geometry can now display with more detailed and higher resolution, providing a richer visual experience.
Improved Comfort: You should experience smoother interactions and more comfortable usage thanks to our optimized model performance.
Extended View Distance: You can now see a higher Level of Detail (LOD) of geometry from further away, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
Efficient Memory Management: You should have improved performance and stability from our better memory management.
Improvements to Measurements: You now have more control over measurements through updated endpoints, introduced a selected state, and changed metric measurements from centimeters to meters.
Properties in Core Menu: The Properties Tool has been moved to the Core Menu, making it more accessible than the previous placement on the left-hand controller.
Enhanced Visual Feedback for Interactable Elements: A new "short beam" feature provides improved visual feedback when pointing at a model on the Workshop Table or the Table itself, clearly indicating that the object is an interactive 3D element in space.
What’s Fixed:
Pairing

Console
- Enabled auto-reposition for the console to prevent it from getting lost outside the user's field of view when navigating in VR.
- The button to open, close, and reposition the console now functions correctly after navigating from the Home space to a Workshop.
- Resolved an issue that prevented some users from controlling visibility via the Model Tab.
Visibility
- Resolved multiple bugs that resulted in Visibility not working as expected.
Model Loading
- Resolved an issue where users would get stuck on a black screen when loading a model in 1:1 mode.
- Resolved an issue where users would freeze in the Workshop after sharing a model.
Tools
- Resolved an issue where the Properties icon remained highlighted and active after closing the Properties Panel.
- Resolved an issue where users with view or edit permissions could not see measurements created by admins.
- Resolved an issue where admins couldn’t see measurements created by users with view or edit permissions.

- Resolved an issue where users in a Workshop continued to see measurements that other users deleted.
- Resolved an issue where the tooltip for measurements was incorrectly displayed behind the core menu panel.
- When there is no model on the Workshop table, the Create Issue tool will no longer be visible.
General
- Resolved multiple bugs that caused the app to crash.
- Resolved an issue where a "No Internet Connection" screen was visible even after the connection was restored.
- Ghost Mode is now always enabled, and the Ghost Mode button has been removed from the left-hand controller.
Known Issues and Workarounds:
Workshop
- After Wi-Fi connection is restored, the console in the Workshop will show available Workshops instead of files or issues.
- Workshops created prior to February 2024 may not allow the visibility of elements to be disabled and reenabled for single users and networked users.
- Exiting and reentering a Workshop may cause a user’s audio to sound quieter. To fix this, users should force close the app and relaunch.
- Avatars may spawn into the floor when users enter the Workshop.
- Users may not always face the table after spawning or landing in a Workshop.
- When users enter the Workshop from the home screen, the core menu may incorrectly spawn into the table.
Console
- The console may get lost inside geometry when flying up or down, or teleporting inside objects.
- Within the settings panel, the "Manage" button may be greyed out, indicating it is disabled. To resolve this, navigate to the Permission panel, return to the Settings panel, and the "Manage" button becomes active and clickable.
- In the Model Browser, selecting an element to isolate via the search function does not hide other elements in the shared model, despite the Model Browser showing all other elements as disabled.
Model Loading
- Complex, federated models may not load materials properly.
Tools
- Users may not be able to add more than one watcher to newly placed Issues.
- The Issue Type no longer appears on the preview pop-up card after updating issue details.
- When using voice-to-text, numbers may not populate as expected into the text field.
- When selecting an element through the Properties tool and viewing its metadata, only the first line of data is shown. When the user points to the panel, the entire data will show.
- If Measurements are very close to each other or clumped together, they may become hard to select for deletion.
- Users may intermittently lose the ability to ‘Go To’ or ‘Gather’ specific users.
- When users are viewing a model in 1:1 and use the 'Go-To' feature, or when they are gathered by another user, they do not end up in the correct position. Instead, the users are positioned at the default location in front of the table.
- When a user enables properties in VR and closes the Properties panel using the "X" button, the Properties icon remains highlighted, incorrectly indicating it is still active. The icon only shows as disabled when hovered over.
General
- If a user’s permissions are changed in an Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) project while they are working in the Workshop XR web app, the changes do not take effect until the user refreshes their page.
- Attempting to upload a recently deleted or duplicate file without refreshing the page may result in the upload action failing to initiate.
- When a user is on the splash screen while launching the app and loses network connection, the home screen will show blank. When the network reconnects, the home screen does not recover and remains blank.
- Rotation with the Quest 3 thumb stick may be overly sensitive in VR.
- While in VR, users who are in the workshop are not visible to others viewing the workshop from the home screen. Only when a user selects "Enter" on the workshop are they able to see users who are already present in the workshop.
- When an issue is added to a 3D view of a specific model and the view is switched to a different 3D model, the issue sphere appears in an incorrect location in the new model.
