How To: Create a Workshop on Autodesk Workshop XR
To help you make the most out of Autodesk this article will guide you through the creation of a new workshop. A new workshop can conveniently be created from both the desktop and/or your headset.
This process will allow you to effectively review 3D models, organize your project data, and ultimately enhance your design workflow. Let's dive right into how you can set up your workshop in Autodesk.
From the desktop: Go to workshop.autodesk.com and select the desired project.
From headset: Open the Autodesk Workshop XR app on your Meta Quest headset.
- Start by clicking on the button labeled Create Workshop.
- Give Your Workshop a Name and click Create.
- If you are not already an ACC user: see our ACC File Upload article. If you are already an ACC user: Select Your 3D Model you'd like to review in this workshop. Don't stress about this choice - you can always change the model later or load a new model when you're already in the workshop. This feature provides you with the flexibility to adapt as your workshop evolves.
- Use the File Picker. This handy tool will filter your project data down to folders that contain NWD and RVT files, making the selection process easier and more efficient.
- If you're working with Revit files, you'll have an additional option to select a 3D View. This allows you to load a different geometry set if you wish to explore different perspectives. For information on working with linked models, please refer to this article.
- Add your colleagues or clients for a collaborative experience that have access to your project by leveraging the Permissions tab. For more information on how to add other members to your workshop, see our How to: Invite Others to Your Workshop article.
And that's it! You've successfully created a new workshop. Remember, Autodesk is designed to be flexible and adaptive to your needs. So feel free to explore, experiment and make the most out of your Autodesk experience. Happy creating!
