Issue:
How to create an exploded view for either a drawing or an animation in Fusion.
Solution:
Exploded views must be created in the Animation Environment in Fusion.
To create an Exploded View follow these steps:
- Open assembly.
- Switch to the Animation Environment.
- Explode the Assembly either manually with the Move command by selecting on the canvas or selecting the components/ sub-assembly from the Browser list.
- Or using the "Auto Explode: One Level" or "Auto Explode: All Levels" options under the Transform menu.
- Apply "Trail Line Visibility" or "Split Transforms" as desired through the move dialogue.
Once the Exploded View is created, transfer it to the Drawing Environment with the following steps:
Save the Animation.
- Switch to the Drawing Environment and select "From Animation".
- Place the base view on the sheet. The base view will be the exploded view that was created.
- if it is required to have a particular view, add a named view from the design and select the same named view while creating a drawing.
It is also possible to animate the exploded view and export it as a video file:
Follow the steps above to create the exploded view.
- Click on "Publish" in the Tool Ribbon
- Select the desired Storyboard and Video Resolution.
- Click OK.
- On the next window; Name the video file and select where to save it locally and/or in the cloud. Be sure to check the boxes.
To create a video of the exploded view moving in reverse to assemble instead of explode:
Follow the steps above to create the exploded view.
- Right Click on the Storyboard name in the bottom left of the Animation workspace.
- Select "Reverse" on the pop-up.
