Issue:
How to install a cloud tool library for use in the Autodesk Fusion Manufacture workspace for multiple users to access the same tools?Solution:
Cloud tool libraries can be installed through either a web browser/A360 drive or the Fusion 360 Data Panel. Before using cloud tool libraries, they will need to be enabled in the Fusion Preferences.Note: Personal/Single-user hubs cannot share tool libraries among users. Shared cloud tool libraries must be on a Team Hub and users must have at least team member rights to view the shared tool library.
Enabling Tool Libraries in Fusion
- Open preferences from the top right corner of Fusion.
- Navigate to General > Manufacture and check the box to Enable Cloud Libraries.
Importing tool libraries to the Cloud
- Manage > Tool Library.
- Right-click Cloud -> Import libraries.
Note: It may be necessary to create the library before importing.
Right-click Cloud and select New library to create a library.
Once imported, these libraries should show in the Assets folder after a short while syncing.
Uploading Cloud Tool Libraries through A360
- Open a web browser and navigate to the following website Fusion 360 Hub on the web browser.
- In the Fusion section of your Drive, enter the Assets folder and then the CAMTools folder.
- Drag the JSON or TOOLS tool library files into the CAMTools Folder. They will then be added automatically to the Cloud Tool Libraries and shown in the cloud section of the Fusion Tool Library shortly.
Uploading Cloud Tool Libraries through the Fusion Data Panel
- Open Fusion and show the Data Panel.
- Open the Assets folder by double-clicking.
- Double-click the CAMtools folder.
- Upload .JSON or. TOOLS format Tool Libraries from the local machine to the Assets > CAMTools folder, which will allow access to the libraries on the Cloud when logged into Fusion.
Accessing Cloud Tool Libraries in Fusion
Cloud Libraries can be accessed through the All > Cloud folder of the Tool Library Manager in Fusion. Tool Libraries created in Fusion under the Cloud Libraries folder will automatically be added to the CAMTools Asset folder in the Data Panel and A360.
If working in a Team Hub, any edits made to Cloud tool libraries will be pushed to the CAMTools Asset folder, shared across the Team Hub. These updates will be shown with a new version number for the cloud library in the Data Panel and are pushed when the CAMTools folder of the Data Panel is refreshed, or Fusion is opened.
