How to manually collect diagnostic log files for Fusion

Issue:

How to manually collect and find the location of the diagnostic log files for Fusion. To share this info, find the relevant log files, copy them to a new folder, and zip it for sharing.

Solution:

The log files for Fusion are located in hidden files and folders on your machine. For information on how to access these files and folders, see these links for Windows and for macOS.

Installation Log files

For installation or update errors.

  • Windows: C:\Users\(username)\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log
  • MacOS: Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Logs>autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log

Application Log Files

For issues launching or operating Fusion.

Note: Before copying the logs, it is possible to annotate them following the steps in How to add notes or annotations to log files in Fusion. It will help support and development to identify when the issue starts/ends.

  • Windows:
    • C:\Users\(username)\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\(Alphanumeric Folder)\logs (Look for all *.log files.)
    • C:\Users\(username)\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\logs (Look for all *.log files. Logs are located here when sign in is unsuccessful.)
  • MacOS:
    • Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Application Support>Autodesk>Autodesk Fusion 360>(Alphanumeric Folder)>logs (Look for all *.log files)
    • Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Application Support>Autodesk>Neutron Platform>Logs (Look for all *.log files. Logs are located here when sign in is unsuccessful.) 

Account and Login Log Files

For issues connecting to license, account, or login failures.

  • Windows OS: %localappdata%\Autodesk\Identity Services\Log\IdServices.log
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Identity Services/Log/IdServices.log
